As all fashionistas, I was more than excited to visit the London Fashion Weekend for the first time. Of course, prior to that, I was struggling with what to wear: Should I be artistic? Should I be on trend? Should I be more edgy? Oh my, I went through the whole closet trying to figure out the best option.
I decided I want to be a bit casual with S/S trend style in it, so I went for a white dress with stripes (since stripes are big for these seasons) and added a denim jacket (which is always in style and as proved by catwalk, will be for S/S 16 as well). I really wanted to wear my most fancied pointed heels, however I felt it was too cold for that and opted for heeled boots instead. But that’s enough about my outfit, let’s talk TRENDS!
I just want to mention, the event was held at wonderful Saatchi Gallery and every room was transformed to pop-stores of different brands and designers. So if you wanted to spend money, that was the right time! I was looking for the right fur (or faux fur) coat for a long long time and I where to find the best pieces? Fashion show of course. So I bought myself a wonderful piece from Australian brand called Unreal Fur. About them from their website: “Creating a luxurious and ethical alternative to fur, Unreal Fur develops the finest quality faux fur.”
• Coat, Unreal Fur • Turtleneck sweater, Rinascimento • High waisted jeans, Miss Selfridge • Sunglasses, Pull&Bear •Lipstick, Chanel
And now finally, TRENDS….
First style presented on TREND Catwalk was BEAUTIFUL BOTANICALS!
Of course this trend can’t be missed in every year’s S/S collection, this year however, these florals became more graphic and oversized.
AMERICANA, as you can imagine, full of US flag colours (red, white and blue). Followed by combinations of denim and suede (with fringes of course). So you can definitely keep your fringes from A/W and pair it to create trendy S/S outfit.
Third style was POP ART BRIGHTS that brought strong hues mainly of reds, blues and purples. We can say that COLOUR IS THE NEW BLACK (at least for S/S 16).
And the last one. NEW ROMANCE. There is no better time than S/S to be a bit more romantic and add few delicate feminine fabrics in pastel palette to your wardrobe.
And the finale…

And what do you do after a fashion show? You go and get yourself a fabulous drink! And we did, at a very chic bar at Covent Garden called Dirty Martini. (Got myself my favourite, French Martini)
Oh, and I couldn’t leave London without Ladurée macarons and Victoria’s Secret of course! (I must say, we spent 2 hours at VS and the store is just dreamy!)
My next post will be a bit unusual, I’ll be talking about MEN (their trends of course), so stay tuned!
